Human Resources Manager
About us
We are an automotive group with four Toyota sites across North Shore and West Auckland, as well as a Lexus dealership, and two Bridgestone stores. Our kind, diverse and talented team of around 170 is what sets us apart.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on and employee-centric People & Culture Manager to join our team and lead the people & culture function of our business. Anything to do with people & culture, you’ll be responsible for it:
- Strategic leadership: you’ll drive and deliver people-related projects (and the people element of other operational projects);
- Day to day people & culture work: recruitment, onboarding, performance, learning & development, offboarding;
- People-centric: every day you’ll be relied upon to bring the people voice to the decision-making table.
Our Employee Experience Officer will support you in this work, and you’ll be the manager of this role.
Our people & culture foundations are set up well, and we’re ready to get to ‘Horizon 2’ for this function.
You’ll also lead the employment relations function of the business – providing advice and guidance to managers, and supporting them to make legal, fair and commercial decisions. Our Legal Counsel would support you with any tricky legal matters if need be.
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone with:
- At least 3 years’ employment relations and people & culture/HR experience
- Experience successfully running employment relations processes’ independently
- Relationship management experience
- Project / change management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication.
The other skillsets and experience which would be ideal, but are not a deal-breaker are:
- Recruitment experience
- Immigration, privacy and commercial law knowledge
- People management / leadership experience.
- Financial literacy
In return for your hard work, we will give you:
- A competitive remuneration package and benefits
- Flexibility and trust – you own your calendar and the role can be hybrid in terms of location. There will be days when you need to be at a particular site, and other days when you may decide it’s ok to work from home (if that’s what you want).
- A ‘fail fast’ environment – one of our mindsets is to ‘just start’ and so that means it’s ok if we get things wrongs sometimes. We just pick ourselves back up and try something different next time.
- Investment in the function and your career! The success of this function is crucial to the success of our business, so you can count on that, and we are passionate about supporting our people and what they want to get out of their career.
- A leader trained in being a leader – we are so proud of this.
- Work perks: car discounts – servicing, parts, etc, wellbeing and social events throughout the year, competitive pay, long service rewards and a partnership with Boost.
- You’ll also get a thorough handover from our current People & Culture Manager who is slowly transitioning out of the business and she settles overseas.
If this sounds like you then we CANNOT wait to hear from you – please apply!
